Frequently Asked Questions

How long does treatment last at IBT Rehab?

Duration depends on clinical assessment. Medical detox typically requires 3-7 days. Residential treatment ranges from 30 to 90 days based on substance history, co-occurring diagnoses, and response to treatment. Outpatient programs run 8-12 weeks with multiple weekly sessions. Length of stay is determined collaboratively between the patient, treatment team, and -- when appropriate -- the insurance provider.

Is detoxification medically supervised?

Yes. All detox at IBT Rehab is physician-directed with 24/7 RN monitoring. Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) -- including buprenorphine, naltrexone, or benzodiazepine taper protocols -- is administered based on the specific substance and the patient's medical history. Vital signs are tracked continuously during the acute withdrawal phase.

Do you treat co-occurring mental health disorders?

Yes. Our dual diagnosis program integrates psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and behavioral therapies (CBT, ACT) within the substance use treatment plan. Neuropsychological screening occurs within the first 72 hours of admission. Conditions commonly treated include major depressive disorder, PTSD, generalized anxiety disorder, and bipolar spectrum disorders.

What insurance do you accept?

IBT Rehab accepts Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medicaid, Medicare, Health Net, Ambetter, Centene, and United Healthcare. Our admissions team provides complimentary insurance verification before arrival. If your provider is not listed, call (209) 563-9127 -- we may still be able to work with your plan or discuss alternative payment arrangements.

Can family members participate in treatment?

Family involvement is a core component of our clinical model. Family Systems Therapy sessions occur weekly and are facilitated by a licensed clinical social worker. Our Family Lodge accommodates visiting family members during scheduled weekend visitation. We also offer psychoeducation workshops that teach families about the neuroscience of addiction, boundary setting, and communication strategies.

What does a typical day look like?

Patients wake at 6:30 AM for a guided nature walk, followed by outdoor fitness at 7:15 AM. After breakfast, the morning block includes individual counseling and group therapy. Afternoons feature specialized modalities -- CBT, music therapy, equine-assisted sessions, or greenhouse activities. Evenings include peer support meetings, journaling, and wind-down time. The early-riser schedule is designed to rebuild circadian rhythm and promote physical wellness alongside behavioral change.

Is same-day admission available?

In many cases, yes. If clinical assessment and insurance verification can be completed by phone, we can coordinate same-day arrival. Call (209) 563-9127 to discuss your situation. For patients traveling from outside San Diego County, we assist with transportation logistics.
